October Mixed Media Challenge by Helen Tilbury

Hello again FWABulous people!!!

HELEN here today with a new challenge for you!

 A MIXED MEDIA challenge!!

DO NOT FEAR!  You can do it!

I have made it as simple as possible so please give it a go & get your FWAB on for us

again this month – we LOVE seeing your entries in our gallery so let’s begin!

Helen’s EASY Mixed Media Challenge

  1.  Of course you must use some FWAB! Which you can buy HERE.
2.  You need to use at least one wet medium
{for example paint, mist, ink}.
3.  You need to break out the stamps & use
at least ONE stamp on your project!
That’s it!!
In return you can win a whole pack of FWAB product!
Then you will be able to enter many more of our challenges

without spending another cent!  Good deal?!  I think so!!

Remember you can make WHATEVER YOU LIKE

as long as long as you stick to the rules!

I am really excited to see what you come up with & will be stalking the gallery

regularly all month long waiting for your entries…No pressure then!  Let’s go!!

Here are some FWABulous examples from some of the Design Team.

First up is this darling page from Chloe Nielson!
Love her soft  chalking & her subtle gesso masking,
as well as her faint grid stamping.  Makes for such a pretty page
where the FWAB goodies still take centre stage!
She has used the Jasmine Puffy Flourish in Teal, which she
cleverly stretched out by cutting it into two pieces, and
combined it with the Grace Flourish in Plum.
Next up is this beauty from Barbara Turner!  SUCH a pretty ombre
misted background!  Doesn’t it look FWABULOUS?!  Barb has used the
Jasmine Laser Flourish in Pale Pink, together with the
Black Rhinestones Pack which she has arranged around her
lovely modelling paste embossing.  She has stamped her butterflies
onto transparency, how clever is that?!
Above is a fabulously distressed page from Design Team member
Laura Gilhuly!  She has used the Blue Maddison Flowers as well as
the Chocolate Maddison Flowers & the Cream Elise Flowers
plus the Grace Flourish in Pewter.
I ♥ her gesso masking & random stamping!
Doesn’t it make YOU want to give it a go?!?
And above is my sample!  I used the Chloe Pearl Flourish in Olive Green
{I used both flourishes in the pack!} together with some FWABulous
flowers- a couple of Black Maddison ones, as well as an Elise Flower
in Cream, &  another Elise Flower in Black.  Because my patterned paper
(used for my background) was a busy print I toned it down using some
gesso.  I did some random painting with black acrylic paint (to tie in with
the flowers) & used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang mists like watercolours,
applying them with a brush instead. My butterflies are the stamped items.
You can see where I splodged the mist on using my watercolour brush.
A close-up of the yummy FWAB flourish & flowers I used!
Here you can see where I splodged the black paint (ANY acrylic
paint will do for this!) & to get the crackled effect just HEAT
with your heat gun, really close to the surface, while it is drying :)
If you are a fan of texture one way to achieve it is to use some metal
mesh as I have done above – applying your gesso or paint on top of it.
Well there you have it!  I hope we have inspired you to come
& play along with us in the latest FWAB challenge!
Remember it is all about having fun!!
{with FWAB!!!}  See you all again soon :)
